Kimball Area Schools has built something special. Families value the strong education our students receive, the dedicated staff who support them, and schools where students get the attention and resources they need to succeed.
Our district has been careful with taxpayer money. Like many districts in Minnesota, we have reached the point where we need dedicated local funding in order to keep our schools safe, modern and competitive. Technology costs are no longer optional and they keep going up. At the same time, state funding hasn't kept up with our costs. These rising technology expenses are taking dollars away from our general education budget, meaning it can’t be used for other important programs and resources that our community values.
2026 Capital Projects Levy
This November, Kimball Area Schools asking voters to consider a 10-year, $661,605 capital projects levy to provide the dedicated funding our schools need to stabilize our budget and maintain the technology and security systems our schools need. By funding our technology-related costs with a levy, we can free up money in our regular budget to protect what our community values most: small class sizes, and student support staff and programs including social workers and a resource officer, career and technical education programs, college credit options, and extracurricular activities like sports, theater, and robotics.
This is an important community decision. Residents will have the final say when they cast their ballot on or before November 3.
